Waiting to be able to continue their journey, countless Syrian refugees coming from Turkey are trapped in Rhodes. The drawing is composed of three panels where the second and the third panels are representing a zoom-in and a zoom-out of the Aegean Sea. A notion of abstraction comes in when the zooming takes place. You kind of feel lost in the waves where also a lot of refugees lost their life. The artwork questions our perception, especially the attitude of our contemporary society towards the refugee crises.
